Another day, another beer(s)

Wednesday bring some big (literally) to the shop. Check it out!

Prairie 3rd Anniversary Ale

3rd Anniversary Ale is our saison fermented on raspberries, giving it not only a delightful flavor and aroma, but a beautiful ruby color. We are excited to offer this beer to our friends in 500ml bottles as well as a limited number of 3 liter bottles.

Wait.. Did that say Limited 3 Liter Bottles?!?!?

Odell Piña Agria - Limited

Explore the bright tropical aromas of fruit and melon, and transport your taste buds to a sour wonderland. A subtle sweet malt and pineapple backdrop bursts with an exotic sparkling tart finish that is refreshing and invigorating. A paradise for your palate awaits.

Boulevard Imperial Stout X - Tart Cherry Stout and Rye on Rye - Limited

Boulevard-Imperial-Stout-X-Tart-Cherry rye on rye

Our special treat for lovers of big, complex stouts, the Imperial Stout “X” series offers a year-long roster of limited releases, each with a significant variation. This time out we spotlight the addition of tart cherries to fermentation as well as a lactic souring on the brewhouse. The result is a perfect marriage of robust, smoky maltiness and bracing tartness. This beer received no barrel aging.

Why Rye? This assertively flavorful grain is more often associated with whiskey than with ales. Even in that arena, it has largely been eclipsed by corn and barley, the sources of bourbon and scotch. But when we procured some seasoned barrels from our friends at Templeton Rye, we asked ourselves, “Why not?” Why not brew a rich, tawny rye ale, then mellow it in the warmth of charred oak rye whiskey casks? Two kinds of malted rye provide spicy sweetness, giving way to notes of caramelized wood and the citrusy tang of Citra and Ahtanum hops before easing into a dry, lingering finish.

It's Tuesday – aka "Christmas in September on a Tuesday" Day

Wipe the midweek blues away with a little help from our new friends:

Urban Chestnut Pierre’s Wit

Not too long ago the beer world lost one of its modern icons, Pierre Celis. Pierre, almost single-handedly, resurrected what is today one of the most popular styles of craft beer…the Belgian Wit or White Beer- a deliciously refreshing, wheat beer originally created by Belgian farmers in the middle centuries, whose primary crop was wheat.  Today, the style has a generous range-of-flavor and is often infused with a variety of spices, primarily coriander and dried citrus fruits.  In keeping true to Mr. Celis’ homeland of Belgium we additionally brew ours with unmalted wheat using a very thorough mash regime. Here’s to you Pierre!

Oskar Blues IPA Blue Dream - FINALLY

A Metamodern IPA conceived of hand selected hops from down under. Malt barley and red wheat combine to create a clean malt backbone with foolproof flavor and mouthfeel to support the main act of Enigma, Vic Secret, Ella, Topaz and Galaxy hops. The hops strum juicy and sweet aromas with headline notes of passion fruit, raspberries, pineapple and citrus.

Left Hand Warrior IPA

Left hand Warrior IPA

Warrior is brewed with fresh, whole flower Cascade hops from the Western Slope of Colorado where high altitudes, hot days and cool mountain nights produce hops of great character. The hops are flown in fresh to our kettles within hours of being harvested. Citrus and pine notes aggressively attack in the aroma and flavor of this once a year brew.

Evil Twin Pils Al Pastor - EXTREMELY Limited

An Imperial Pilsner that is brewed with chili peppers, lime and pineapple.

Evil Twin / Crooked Stave Ryan and the Gosling - EXTREMELY Limited

Hey girl - just listening to you talk about how the CMY-1, CMY-5, and CMY-7 Brettanomyces yeast, along with the Pale 2-row, Munich II, Oats, Wheat, and Honey malts, together with citrus peel and juice added at KO, followed by fresh zest with balanced citrusy hop characteristics at whirlpool - makes me wanna drink this beer just for you. An all-Brett pale ale brewed with citrus peel and with citrus juice added.

Evil Twin Sour Bikini - It’s Back

Named after atom bomb test grounds, designed by a French car engineer - the bikini was to many a disturbing and degrading creation and fortunately for others a symbol of emancipation. This is attractively light bodied, seductively well balanced and very drinkable Sour Bikini is anything but a sissy beer.

Evil Twin From Amager With Love - It’s Back, Too

Amager is an island south of picturesque Copenhagen, mostly notable as the home of the airport, the place you go to get high and the common colloquial name for Amager is Lorteøen (Shit Island). But Amager has much more to offer than you might think. Like these two dedicated brewers from Amager Bryghus, who traveled all the way from Amager to the states to brew a pitch-black and troublesome Imperial Stout infused with the cutest blueberries. It might look shitty, but once you let it sink in you can feel the love within.

Stillwater / Freigeist Atlantis Gose

Gose brewed with Oyster Shells and Seaweed

Hof Ten Dormaal Zure

Belgian Sour Ale

Omnipollo Zodiak - EXTREMELY Limited

A blend of grains, untouched post fermentation and aspiringly hopped with Simcoe, Citra and Centennial.

Omnipollo Nebuchadnezzar - EXTREMELY Limited

“Neb” is a home brew recipe that has been scaled up with no consideration to economies of scale. Some say idiotic, and as an economist I would have to agree. Get fresh or die trying.

Omnipollo Magic # 4:21 - EXTREMELY Limited

Double Raspberry / Vanilla Smoothie IPA. What else do you need to know?

Corsendonk Agnus Tripel Ale

It has a very big head indeed - pour it gently - and a very clean palate, beginning with a dry, lightly citric fruitiness, and finishing with a distinctive and delicate, perfumy, hop character. Very light and fluffy in texture, giving little hint of its strength.

And the Hits Just Keep on Coming!

More and more and more! What a day! Text holds to 314-399-9339. Include your name and qty.

Bell’s Oracle - EXTREMELY LIMITED (2 per person)

“Our take on the West Coast-style Double India Pale Ale, The Oracle places hop intensity first & foremost, making only the slightest concession to malt & balance. The fireworks start with the floral aromatic punch of two separate dry-hop sessions with Amarillo and NZ Pacific Jade. Resinous, citrusy hop flavors mixed with aggressive bitterness from a massive kettle addition deliver on that aromatic promise.”

Cathedral Square Canes of Judas

Sour ale Barrel Aged in oak with raspberry

Sierra Nevada Ovila Dubbel - EXTREMELY LIMITED (1 per person)

Ovila Abbey Dubbel is brewed in the abbey tradition, and perfect for the re-birth of spring. Clear and deep copper in color, this Abbey Dubbel has a complex and rich malty sweetness with hints of caramelized sugar. The aroma is a heady and layered mix of fruit and spice, with hints of clove, raisin, and black pepper from the use of an abbey style yeast

Sierra Nevada Narwhal - SEASONAL

Narwhal Imperial Stout is the latest beer in Sierra Nevada’s High Altitude Series. This malt-forward monster is bold – with notes of baker’s cocoa, molasses, and dark roasted coffee. This massive imperial stout is incredibly complex, rich, and intense and will develop in the bottle for years to come.     EASTER EGG - Name the movie quoted in the title and get $2 off a pour at the bar
